Joy in the morning

I awake with the dawn.
Frost still lingers and the day has given only a pale wash of sunlight in the east. There is no need for the scene of peaceful serenity to give way to memories of the night. Every day to come needs not be stained by the sorrows of previous hours. I am grateful for the morning. For just as a rainbow reminds us of God's promises so the morning signifies new birth and fresh fellowship with out Creator. The morning does not deny the existence of night and darkness, but rather transforms and makes it new. Just as our sin, in all of it's tarnished ugliness, is forgiven when we come to the foot of the cross.

Psalm 30:5
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
